How We Started...

In 2021, I volunteered with the Red Cross in Maicao, Colombia, where I worked with Venezuelan refugees and children in communities with limited access to medical care. It was there that I met Yerismari, a six-year-old girl with a growing tumor on her back. Her mother worked as a recycler, earning around $2 USD a day while struggling to provide food, water, and the care her daughter needed.

I had never shared a story like theirs on social media before, but I decided to try. The response showed me what could happen when people came together to support someone they had never even met.

What started as an effort to help one family grew into Positive Potential—an organization dedicated to sharing the stories of people facing difficult circumstances and connecting them with the resources and opportunities to build more independent, hopeful futures.
